Background:

SOS Related Activities:

On May 19, 2006 SOS hosted an environmental cinema “The End of Suburbia” (over 20 in attendance). The following month, June 16, 2006 an energy representative from La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) gave a presentation on their Green Power Program. Many in attendance signed up for LPEA’s green power program.

On July 27, 2007 SOS hosted an environmental cinema “Kilowatt Ours” (about a dozen in attendance). The following month, August 24, 2007 an energy conservation/efficiency expert provided a presentation on how we can become more efficient not only in our homes, but locally and nationally as well. The September 28, 2007 work forum taught locals how to conduct energy audits for their homes, family, friends and neighbors.
