Almost half of people who took part in a LADbible poll admitted they could do more in their everyday lives to help the environment. This week, LADbible ran a series of Twitter polls asking the 2.2m followers about climate change and the environment, in the run-up to next week’s general election. In one poll, we asked how much people really cared about the environment. Of the 3,219 people who voted, 49 percent said that they recycled, but could do more. Only four percent said that it affected everything they did, whereas 31 percent said they were actively trying to make changes. In the same poll, 16 percent said they ‘couldn’t care less’ about the environment. Earlier in the week, we asked how important climate change and the environment were, as an election issue. Of the 5,662 people who voted, 34 percent said it was the most important issue; 25 percent said public services like schools and hospitals were more important; 27 percent said Brexit was more important and 14 percent thought it wasn’t important at all.
